This project combines new modern elements with old garden features, reflecting the original character and the contemporary extension of the house.
A granite cobble entrance with curving granite walls and a hoggin driveway were constructed. Surrounding the period part of the property, traditional soft planting was used, complimenting the house and the mature planting.
The rear of the house uses modern materials with clean sharp lines. Iroko hardwood screens and fences shelter seating areas. Bespoke benches of block, clad with ceramic tiles create interest and further seating. Mature laurel hedging and espalier evergreen oaks trees create privacy, while boundary fencing and bamboo enhance safety. A new lawn with drainage channels and soak away creates plenty of space for sports and play, while an old stable converted into a seating area with fire pit is the perfect area for entertaining.
